Words
These are your building blocks. The raw vocabulary: rudiments, stickings, patterns, systems.

You’ve practiced your rudiments, your fills, your grooves.
But the second you play with other musicians, or someone says “just play something”, it disappears.
You end up playing the same 3 fills every time.
You’ve been collecting vocabulary without ever learning to use it, like memorizing words and never learning to speak a sentence.
More vocabulary won’t fix it.
You need a different approach.
There are 4 stages between "I know this" and "I can play this fluently".
Most drummers get stuck because they skip one of these steps.
These are your building blocks. The raw vocabulary: rudiments, stickings, patterns, systems.
Arrange those building blocks into actual phrases, and you get comfortable with how they fit together.
Start improvising with the vocabulary you've built, getting comfortable switching between the building blocks.
Put the vocabulary into a real music context similar to how it would be used in a real musical situation.
Turn vocabulary into fluency so what you hear in your head
is what actually comes out on the kit, every time.
The musical disconnect
Not being able to express ideas you're hearing.
Real fluency and flow
Execute the ideas in your head with complete control
Unsure about your time-feel
Not confident enough to lead the band with your own sense of time.
Rock-solid groove
Play your grooves with confidence in your own time-feel.
Performance nerves
Being unsure about what to do in the practice room to prepare for gigs.
Confidence on stage
See what you practice actually come out in your playing.
Guessing what to practice
Not seeing the results from your practice because you don't know what to do.
A framework for practice
Step-by-step not just WHAT to practice but HOW.
We start with a simple free 1:1 video call to figure out
exactly what you need to focus on.
The music you want to be playing, and what that level actually takes.
We get clear on what you actually want to play, and what's been stopping you.
The next steps to close that gap. If it’s a good fit, I’ll show you what working together would look like.
These diagnostic sessions have been designed for
a very specific type of student.
This is NOT for you if
You're a total beginner
You're looking for a quick fix
You make excuses instead of practicing
You just want more free lessons
You're not open to a new approach
This IS for you if
You're an intermediate drummer
You're self-taught
You're stuck in a plateau
You're committed to regular practice
You want a deep, lasting change
These drummers were stuck exactly where you are.
Here's what happened once they built real fluency.

I've spent the last 21 years behind a kit.
Touring, playing in the theatre on London's West End, working cruise ships, and doing sessions all over the world.
But somewhere along the way I noticed the same thing kept happening to drummers I met and taught: they'd learn loads of cool stuff, then completely lock up the second they had to actually use it.
Practice room confidence that vanished the moment it mattered.
So for the last 10+ years I've been teaching drummers how to close that gap, not by giving them more to learn, but by helping them actually own what they already know.
That's what became Drum Flow Coaching.
Get clear answers to common questions before you get started.
Late beginner and above. You can play songs and get through a gig, but what comes out doesn’t match what you hear in your head. Absolute beginners aren’t the right fit yet.
We work out which stage of the Flywheel you're stuck in and why, get clear on what you actually want to be playing, and map the next steps to close that gap.
I want this call to be valuable to you whether or not we end up working together. In fact, I want it to be so valuable that you WANT to work with me.
Obviously I’m also going to tell you about Drum Flow Coaching, and if it makes sense for you we can talk about what that looks like.
Either way, I want you to walk away having learned something.
21 years behind a kit. Touring, playing in theatre on the West End, cruise ships, recording and sessions around the world.
For the last decade I've been teaching drummers how to close the gap between what they know and what actually comes out when it matters.
Most programmes hand you more vocabulary.
This one gives you the tools to develop real flow and fluency with the vocabulary you learn.
The purpose of this program is to change the way you practice so you can apply the principles of the Flow Flywheel to whatever you want to learn in the future.
Most drummers notice a change in the first few weeks, usually in how they practice rather than what they can play.
The deeper change, actually improvising freely, builds over the full program, and it depends on the hours you put in.
But you can expect significant change in 12-16 weeks.
